In the beginning...

One day I was listening to a tape of Steve Farrar speaking on his Point Man series of lessons (thanks Greg F.). At the end of the tape, he was encouraging men to be the spiritual leaders of their families and promised we would receive help from God if we did. "How do I know?" he asked. Then he quoted the first part of 2 Chronicles 16:9. A chill went down my spine! I had been struggling to serve God and lead my family and I couldn't figure out why, but I had just received my answer. My heart did not completely belong to God. Part of it belonged to my job, part of it belonged to hobbies and other extra-curricular activities, part of it was burdened down with worries and concerns of this world, but little (if any at all), truly belonged to God. I made a promise to myself right then and there that I was going to give my heart COMPLETELY to God and allow him to strongly support me. He has done just that! Praise to God Almighty of Heaven!!

100%

God wants 100% of our heart!! Anything less is insufficient...99.99% just won't do!! You can search for God as long and has hard as you want, but unless you search for God with ALL of your heart, YOU WILL NOT FIND HIM!! Here is how we know this:
  • Deuteronomy 4:29
"But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul."

  • 1 Chronicles 28:9
"...know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever."

  • Jeremiah 29:13
"You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

The Journey Begins...
As I begin to search for God with all of my heart, I will post thoughts and items of interest on this site pertaining to my journey. Here we go...
